Midland Area Stations

Just to make it clear straight away, this is not a page dedicated to stations of the Midland Railway!  It is for stations in the counties that surrounded Birmingham when my father was taking his photographs.  Of course, since he was an LMS fan it may just be the case that the stations pictured in this section of the site were old Midland Railway stations but that is purely coincidental!

When I looked at the counties that were commonly defined as being included in 'The Midlands' I was surprised to find that the area included such counties as Buckinghamshire and Cheshire.  Here, I stick to the three counties that surrounded and included Birmingham before the West Midlands was created in 1974.  I do this on the grounds that these were the places that my father was able to visit easily and frequently and to expand on the existing Birmingham and Local Stations pages.
